Authorities said Jamica Woods, 37, of East Fallowfield Township, was fatally shot Tuesday by Gregory A. Twyman, 44, her longtime boyfriend.<\/p><\/div>\n

The homicide on Tuesday in East Fallowfield Township is being called \u201can execution\u201d by Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan.<\/p>\n

Hogan said Gregory A. Twyman, 44, was taken into custody while casually catching a smoke on the porch shortly after he fatally shot \u00a0Jamica Woods, 37, his longtime girlfriend \u2013 and mother of their teenage daughter \u2013 at the residence they shared on Rokeby Road.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was a premeditated and cruel murder,\u201d said Hogan.\u00a0 \u201cThis was not an argument, this was an execution.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the criminal complaint, Twyman called 9-1-1 at 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday: \u201cI need the police; I just \u00a0shot my girlfriend,\u201d he told the dispatcher. When police arrived to take him into custody, he was on the porch with a cigarette, the complaint said.<\/p>\n

Gregory A. Twyman, 44, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his longtime girlfriend, Jamica Woods, 37, on Tuesday.<\/p><\/div>\n

Police found Woods inside the residence, dead from multiple gunshot wounds to her arms and midsection, the complaint said.\u00a0 The murder weapon \u2013 a single-shot shotgun that had to be reloaded to fire more than one time \u2013 was also inside the home, the complaint said.<\/p>\n

The day before the murder, the defendant had changed his Facebook profile picture to a shotgun shell, with a shotgun as the background.\u00a0 In response to comments posted, the defendant stated that the picture was \u201ca slug fool,\u201d that it was \u201cgon be too late\u201d if law enforcement tried to intervene, and \u201cOnce i handle my business, i don\u2019t give a [expletive]!\u201d<\/p>\n

During an interview with police, Twyman said he and Woods \u201chad been fighting for days and that he had bought the shotgun shells last week at Walmart,\u201d the complaint said.<\/p>\n

Twyman, who has an extensive criminal history and was awaiting trial next month on drug charges, has been charged with first-degree murder and related offenses. He was taken to Chester County Prison, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 30, court records said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is another example of domestic violence accelerating into a murder,\u201d said Hogan.\u00a0 \u201cA mother is dead and a child has been left an orphan.\u00a0 We will pursue justice for the victim\u2019s family.\u201d<\/p>\n

East Fallowfield Township Police Chief Chris Porter, one of the first officers to respond to the scene, said the homicide occurred in a safe and quiet part of the township. \u201cEast Fallowfield police officers and the Chester County Detectives responded quickly and professionally to arrest this defendant and get him out of our community,\u201d Porter said.<\/p>\n

The East Fallowfield Police Department and the Chester County Detectives will continue to investigate the case, Hogan said.\u00a0 Anybody with information should call East Fallowfield Police Officer Samantha Harper at 610-384-9163 or Chester County Detective Butch Dutter at 610- 692-5100.\u00a0 Deputy District Attorney Michelle Frei has been assigned as prosecutor, Hogan said.<\/p>\n
