{"id":15750,"date":"2013-05-08T09:58:11","date_gmt":"2013-05-08T13:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/?p=15750"},"modified":"2013-05-08T09:58:11","modified_gmt":"2013-05-08T13:58:11","slug":"uhs-boys-volleyball-wraps-up-2013-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/?p=15750","title":{"rendered":"UHS boys volleyball wraps up 2013 season"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_15752\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/UHSboysvolleyball.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15752\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15752\" style=\"border: 2px solid black; margin: 4px;\" alt=\"UHSboysvolleyball\" src=\"http:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/UHSboysvolleyball-300x236.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-15752\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The 2013 Unionville High School boys volleyball team.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>EAST MARLBOROUGH \u2014 In just three seasons, they&#8217;ve gone from non-existent to being a force to be reckoned with.<\/p>\n<p>In just the third year as a sanctioned sports team, the Unionville High School boys varsity volleyball closed out its season with a solid 4 &#8211; 6 record in Independent League play.<\/p>\n<p>The team was led by captains Stephen Rosenberg, Brian Leipold, and David Daly, all third-year varsity players \u2014 and part of the first-ever Indians&#8217; boys volleyball team.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Returning sophomores Ryan Nilsen and Sam Miller brought solid play throughout the season.<\/p>\n<p>Newcomers Dom Ferentinos, Aidan Walsh, and Henry Shafer made great contributions in the starting line-up.\u00a0 Other first year players brought a spark from the bench: Ian Larson, Alex Coletta, Billy Steuteville, Christian Waterkotte, Sean Green, and Austin Hofmann-Reardon.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Kyle Green, another third-year varsity player, returned from an injury in the final weeks of the season and shut down opponents&#8217; hitting with his big blocking presence.\u00a0 Three Unionville players received All Independent League honors: Rosenberg (1st Team), Daly (2nd Team) and Leipold (Honorable Mention).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EAST MARLBOROUGH \u2014 In just three seasons, they&#8217;ve gone from non-existent to being a force to be reckoned with.
