Indians complete fourth straight perfect Ches Mont season, Districts loom next<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Unionville High School’s boys tennis team completed a fought straight perfect season in the Ches Mont, with a win over West Chester East, Tuesday. No. 1 singles player Johnny Wu follows through on a serve.<\/p><\/div>\n

WEST CHESTER \u2014 The Unionville High School boys\u2019 tennis team completed its fourth straight undefeated romp through the Ches-Mont League by defeating the host West Chester East Vikings Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The Indians were led by Johnny Wu, who rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Saran Viswanathan at first singles. Peter Mason gutted out a tough match at third singles, prevailing 7-5, 6-3, over Christian Aksu.<\/p>\n

The team has not lost a league match since the 2009 season, and looks to carry that momentum into the District I Class AAA team tournament next week.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very impressive to go for four years undefeated in the Ches-Mont,” Head coach Sharon Largent said. “The seniors haven\u2019t lost a match in either the American or National divisions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Senior co-captain Jeremy Waterkotte, who along with sophomore partner Srikanth Garlapati took a 6-0, 6-2 decision over the team of Rohit Goyal and Andrew Fleming at first doubles, said, \u201cIt\u2019s been an honor to play on such a talented team for four years.\u201d He then added with a grin, \u201cNo one likes to lose; that\u2019s why we don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lone blemish on the match for the Indians was Ross Fitzsimons\u2019s 6-1, 6-3 defeat at second singles at the hands of Daniel Fisher.<\/p>\n
