With the snow on the ground and the frigid weather, most folks could probably use a reminder that spring is just around the corner. Unionville High School’s baseball coach, T.J. Ostrisko sends along a few news items and notes about some of this year’s Indians squad, as well as where a couple of 2010 players are playing their college ball.<\/p>\n

“Last year\u2019s senior class is thriving in college baseball,” Ostrinko reports. “First team all-conference out fielder Andy Kirkland is getting ready for Division I baseball at UNC Asheville.\u00a0 Darren Griffin will be pitching for Division II Chestnut Hill College.\u00a0 Pat Loughran will be playing at Division I George Washington University.\u00a0 Connor O\u2019Malley will be looking to add to the pitching staff at Division II IUP. “<\/p>\n

And while those Class of 2011 players appear ready to make their mark on the collegiate level, already some members of the Class of 2011 have made their plans to play at the next level.<\/p>\n

“This year\u2019s senior class has already produced two early signings to college programs,” Ostrishko reports. ” Returning first team all conference Pitcher Connor Wing has signed a scholarship to Division II powerhouse Kutztown University.\u00a0 Also, Tyler Fries has accepted a scholarship to Division II CACC Conference powerhouse Wilmington (DE) University to pitch for head coach Brian August.”<\/p>\n

While Ostrisko says he’s excited about this year’s team \u2014 counting the days until they open against Garnet Valley \u2014 he said that a number of other seniors on the team will be making decisions about their future in the coming weeks, and that fans can stay up to date on Indians’ baseball by checking out their Web site.<\/p>\n
