Brian Sheller
During its August 19 meeting, the Chester County Prison Board appointed Brian Sheller as the new Warden of Chester County Prison.
Sheller most recently served as Acting Warden after the previous Warden, Howard Holland, was promoted to Deputy County Administrator in March 2026. Sheller has served as the Deputy Warden since February 2024.
In a joint statement, the Chester County Prison Board said, “Mr. Sheller’s decades of experience in law enforcement and his familiarity with Prison operations provide him with the expertise to effectively manage the Prison and implement ongoing operational improvements. We look forward to his continued leadership of correctional staff and diligent attention to the well-being of the people in his care.”
Prior to becoming Deputy Warden in 2024, Sheller served for 36 years with the Parkesburg Borough Police Department, including more than 30 years as Chief. In that role, he developed Parkesburg’s ‘contract policing’ model that continues to provide full-service police coverage for several surrounding municipalities.
During his law enforcement career, Sheller has served as the President of the Chester County Police Chiefs Association, an instructor at the Chester County Public Safety Training Campus and the Montgomery County Municipal Police Academy, and the commander of the Chester County Major Incident Response Team, among other leadership roles. He’s also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
