“As the premier voice of business in Chester County, events like this solidify our relationship with elected officials and business leaders,”Guy Ciarrocchi, CCCBI President & CEO stated.

In the tradition of the event, The J. Larry Boling Award for Excellence in Local Government was presented by former State Senator, County Commissioner and state Republican Committee Chairman, Earl Baker to East Goshen Township Manager Rick Smith. Smith has been employed by East Goshen Township since 1969. In 1980 he was named the Public Works Director and in 1987 he took over as Township Manager, the position he still holds today. Rick has played a pivotal role in the East Goshen’s evolution from a largely rural farming community into the dynamic suburban community that we have today.

“Rick Smith has for a generation been the go-to guy for East Goshen Township,” Baker said. “He has led the township, working with his Supervisors, through a challenging period of growth and development, while also providing for the recreation needs of his citizens. He always deals with every problem in a direct, effective way. He has also been able to keep taxes down while providing exceptional services.”

The CCCBI offered thanks to their Presenting Sponsors Aqua America and Riley Riper Hollin & Colagreco as well as Advocacy sponsors Exelon Generation and Gawthrop Greenwood PC.
