West Side Story opens March 12 at UHS

WSS Press ReleaseEAST MARLBOROUGH — The classic story of young lovers caught between warring factions — West Side Story — has delighted audiences for nearly two generations and a fresh production of the classical musical will open this week at Unionville High School.

Shows are Thursday March 12, Friday March 13 and Saturday March 14, all curtain times at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance through www.showtix4u.com, or at the box office ($14 for adults, $12 for students and seniors).

Young lovers are caught between prejudice and warring street gangs in this seminal retelling of Romeo and Juliet. From the first notes to the final breath, West Side Story is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time.

Arthur Laurents’ book remains as powerful, poignant and timely as ever. The score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim is widely regarded as one of the best ever written.
