UHS yearbook wins Pica Award

YeahbooksEAST MARLBOROUGH —  Jostens, a leading producer of yearbooks and student-created content, announced that Unionville High School’s yearbook program has been named a 2014 Jostens Pica Award Recipient. The Pica award designation recognizes dynamic school yearbook programs. The program recognizes yearbook staffs and advisers who create engaging yearbooks for their school communities.

Unionville High School’s award winning yearbook program was led in 2014 by Ari Bleemer, Ed Jing, Meg Musser, Meg Sulpizi, and Brendon Wilkins under the direction of Tim Patton, Kate Sager and Betsy Hickman, the Unionville High School yearbook advisers.

“We had a great group of editors and reporters this year who have been working on creating this publication since last June,” said Patton, “and it is great to see all of their hard work recognized.”

Jostens’ PICA Awards are presented twice a year – in May for yearbooks delivered in the spring and in September for yearbooks delivered in the fall. The Award was presented to the Unionville High School yearbook program for achieving the defined criteria in each of three following categories: creating an inclusive yearbook, generating a unique and contemporary design, and successfully managing the yearbook creation process.

“Jostens believes passionately in the importance of the yearbook tradition connecting every student to the school story and the school year, and we are honored to recognize these yearbook programs,” said Mike Wolf, director, Yearbook Marketing, Jostens. “We understand that a great yearbook program does not just happen, and we are dedicated to helping schools strengthen their programs by providing the tools and personal guidance for success. The PICA AWARD recognizes schools that embrace the yearbook tradition and have built a yearbook program that serves the entire school community.”

The Unionville High School yearbook program has received a plaque, which is on display in the main office, so the entire school community will be aware of the achievement.
